I found a storefront.

Patine has found a proper home!
In Bankers Hill.
Coming end of this summer.

I have always dreamt of having a storefront. Since.. probably 2013.
In 2023, I started looking at one in Columbia City, Seattle, but life had other plans.
In 2024, I moved back home.. here.. in San Diego. Leaving my business behind and unsure what was next.
In 2025, I bought a home and felt the freedom to host and make what I wanted. Which was diving into University Heights Women’s Walk, joining leadership, and starting a cookbook club in my home. This is what relit that fire to get back to my pocketed dream. Last summer, during my chef residency in Provence, France, is when I really started to put things in place for how to get back to myself and this dream. So once I returned, I started putting feelers out there of what could be the next step. From August 2025-May 2026 I was hunting for spaces on my own. Getting the word out, doing pop-ups, getting inspiration and networking at Cookbook Week in SF (and general inspiration and appreciation for cookbook spaces like Jenna Helwig / Cookbookery Collective) and a lot of manifesting. But I kept getting shut down and told what business I should do instead.
So in May, I decided to reach out to brokers that I worked with for a short time to help me with what I thought was going to be my Seattle storefront. 3 years later, we were back on the hunt again. I looked at over a handful of spaces, with some that felt sorta promising, and one that finally felt like this is it. But long story short. It ended in heartbreak. After a month of some back and forth and literal breakup “I want you back” energy from a landlord who would not work with me in a fair way to make his space ADA compliant… I let it go. Then it was back to the drawing board. I had memorized the little red dots on LoopNet like my grade school dance recitals. So I went to Craigslist, and there was a space that looked promising. But my broker said upon the first inquiry call that the landlord seemed hesitant and not interested in paying my brokers (another thing the non ADA compliant landlord wasn’t going to cover). So, to protect myself from yet another let down I decided to just leave it. Until we got another call back from the landlord, after sitting down with my business plan, saying that she loves the concept, and thinks it would fit in perfectly with the culture of business owners, creators, and more that are neighbors in her building. AND because of this, would be willing to pay my brokers. Fast forward to now.. and Patine finally has a home!

I’m so, so incredibly thankful for my amazing brokers (Jaxson and Melissa). I truly would be underwater without them through all of this. I can’t wait to share more, and give all the updates I can. From 110 sq ft of my current little garage shop, to 1,100 sq ft, there are so many exciting things to come. Including author talks that are already in the books for this Fall to April 2027 (!!!).
